Fit with Faye App FAQ
What am I getting?
You will receive a new strength plan every four weeks. The training plan, complete with video and written instructions, is designed to allow you to train independently, whether at home or at your selected gym. The program is designed for progression, enabling you to consistently perform key exercises while applying overload principles. Constantly switching exercises prevents effective loading, meaning you won't maximize your lean muscle gains or reach your strength capacity for those movements. Every four weeks your app will be repopulated for your next plan.
The program offers direct access to Faye, allowing you to ask any exercise-related questions and receive personalized advice whenever you need it. You can also upload videos of yourself performing exercises through the app for expert feedback on your form. This combination of expert guidance and video uploads creates a virtual personal training experience, ensuring you perform exercises correctly and maximize your workout effectiveness—it's like having a personal trainer in your pocket!

Workouts FAQ
How is the program structured?
The program consists of three weekly strength training sessions designed to be followed for four weeks total, ensuring you maximize your results before progressing. Throughout this period, clients are encouraged to gradually increase the weights, maintaining high exercise intensity as they become more familiar with the workouts. Each program includes targeted mobility work along with specific exercises aimed at enhancing lower body, upper body and core strength. At the end of the month, you will transition into the next training phase, which is designed to keep you engaged, challenged, and motivated to continue your fitness journey!
What type of exercises are included?
Fit with Faye emphasizes mastering fundamental strength movements, including squatting, hinging, lunging, pushing, and pulling. The true art of our programming lies in skillfully combining these exercises to create effective and time-efficient sessions.
How does progressive overload work?
Progressive overload is a fundamental principle of strength training that involves gradually increasing the intensity of your workouts to stimulate muscle growth and enhance strength. My program is designed to be progressive as you advance through the months. Each week, you will experience progressive overload by incrementally increasing the load, allowing you to adapt to the demands of each session. This approach ensures that you continually challenge yourself and make consistent lean muscle gains in your fitness training.
What are examples of Fit with Faye training techniques?
Tempo Variation: Adjusting the speed of your lifts, particularly focusing on slow eccentric (lowering) and isometric (holding) contractions.
Burnout Sets: Performing high repetitions with lighter weights until muscular failure to achieve maximum fatigue usually at the end of workout or set.
Compound Sets: Combining exercises that target the same muscle group into a continuous sequence to reach muscle fatigue more quickly.
Supersets: Pairing exercises that work opposing muscle groups in a continuous flow to efficiently target all muscle groups.
Short Rest Periods: Minimizing rest time between sets to induce muscular fatigue in less time.
Drop Sets: Performing an exercise until near failure, then immediately reducing the weight and continuing for additional repetitions
Reverse Drop Sets: Performing an exercise until near failure, then increasing the weight while decreasing the number of repetitions performed in subsequent sets.
Pulse Reps: Small motions performed at or near the point of maximum muscle tension to enhance muscle activation and fatigue.
Myo Sets: Utilize a combination of an initial high repetition set done close to muscular fatigue followed by multiple mini-sets with short rest intervals.
Backdown Set: this method involves performing an initial set at a heavier weight at low repetitions, followed by subsequent sets at a lighter weight with higher repetitions.
What equipment do I need?
Home Plan: dumbbells, glute bands, large yoga/swiss ball
Gym Plan: Standard gym equipment including: dumbbells, bench (ideally with incline), barbell and squat rack, weight machines (lat pull down / row, cable tower, leg extension/curl), large yoga/swiss ball
How often should I train?
Training three times a week is recommended. The gym program ranges between 50-60 minutes and the home program between 40-50 minutes.
Who is the strength training program for?
Fit with Faye is designed for individuals seeking a lasting solution to their health and fitness goals. It seamlessly integrates into your life, ensuring that your fitness journey enhances rather than consumes your daily routine. You don’t need to spend countless hours in the gym to achieve real results; whether you're already hitting the gym five times a week or are just starting, this program is tailored to meet you where you are.
When will I see results?
Those who are more experienced will find it effective for maintaining and building upon their current base, while beginners can expect to see noticeable improvements in the near term. My approach maximizes results in minimal time by utilizing effective loading techniques, allowing you to achieve your fitness aspirations efficiently and sustainably.
What fitness level is Fit with Faye designed for?
Fit with Faye is suitable for anyone who is familiar with and can execute basic movement patterns—such as squatting, hinging, lunging, pushing, and pulling—without pain or discomfort. The beauty of strength training lies in its adaptability: as long as you begin with a weight that you can confidently lift with proper form; you can progress at your own pace and comfort level. There’s no reason to hold back!
Do you follow this program yourself?
Absolutely! As a former professional athlete, I applied the same progressive overload framework in my training, allowing me to easily adjust the intensity based on my goals. Now, as a busy mom and business owner with limited time, I've discovered that this program is the most effective way to maintain lean muscle mass while fitting seamlessly into my schedule.
Are there different levels of difficulty?
The program increases in difficulty each month, ensuring that you are consistently challenged. The intensity of the plan is determined by the weights you select; if you are truly lifting to your potential, you will find that each program remains appropriately challenging. This progressive approach guarantees that you are continually pushing your limits and making meaningful gains throughout your training.
How do the outcomes of training at the gym differ from those achieved at home?
Both programs feature similar exercises and should produce comparable results as long as you are lifting to your full potential. It's essential to have access to weights that are heavy enough to provide a challenge. If you find your grip strength is limiting your performance on either platform, I recommend investing in wrist straps or lifting grips to help you effectively load your muscles.
What happens if I need to step away from training for a period?
If you need to take a break from training for any reason—such as an injury or extended travel—a quick email to Faye is all it takes to pause your next monthly payment. When you’re ready to return, you can seamlessly pick up right where you left off. Your training journey is flexible and designed to accommodate your needs!
What if I have an injury?
Always check with your doctor before starting any program if you are concerned about worsening existing injuries. If you have concerns, please obtain medical clearance before beginning. If an injury arises during the program, clients will be advised to seek professional care. During this time, your next program and payments will be paused until you’re ready to resume your training. Your health and well-being are our top priorities!
What are the benefits of strength training?
Strength training offers a multitude of benefits that significantly enhance both physical health and overall well-being. It boosts metabolism by increasing your lean muscle mass which elevates your resting metabolic rate, allowing you to burn more calories even when at rest. Additionally, it helps prevent injuries by strengthening muscles and improving joint stability. Regular strength training also enhances bone health by increasing bone density, which is essential for preventing osteoporosis. Additionally, it enhances mobility and functionality, improves self-confidence, and optimizes body composition.
Is cardio integrated into strength programs?
I firmly believe in the separation of strength training and cardiovascular exercise to maximize results. This approach allows for targeted, purposeful training that respects the unique physiological demands of each modality. Strength training focuses on progressive overload, muscle hypertrophy, and specific rep-and-set protocols, while cardiovascular training emphasizes endurance, metabolic conditioning, and heart rate zone specificity. Combining these distinct forms of exercise in a haphazard manner, as often seen in HIIT classes, fails to fully capitalize on the benefits of either. Such hybrid approaches may induce sweat and create a false sense of accomplishment, but they typically fall short in providing the stimulus for strength gains or cardiovascular adaptations.
